* From New Family :
I wanted to update you on how Sunny’s been doing, since it’s been a month since I brought him home. Sunny is still a really shy dog but he’s really curious about everything. Whenever I take him to a new place, you can always find him sniffing the area and anyone nearby, but eventually, he relaxes and lays down to take a nap.
He loves taking naps throughout the day but he still has lots of energy to go on walks and play. Walks are his favourite part of the day. When he stays at home with my sister, he always grabs his harness to tell her that he wants to go outside.
He also loves it when we play chase, where I run after him and he runs after me. He’s my emotional support dog so, I take him with me to school most days. He’s very quiet and lays down beside me when I sit in class.
Everyone loves him, too, he makes everyone’s day better. Overall, I think he’s a very happy, healthy boy and has been a great addition to our family.(2019)
Happy new year and I hope you and your family are healthy and well. Thank you for reaching out! It’s wonderful to hear from you guys agian as my family and I are very grateful for KOCA in helping to bring Sunny to our family. Overall, Sunny has been doing really well and a loving member of our family. He’s healthy and much more confident than when we first adopted him. He does indeed have an instagram page where you can see some recent photos of him.
There has been one change in his behaviour that I’ve been trying to train him out of but I am having difficulty with. A few months after we adopted him, Sunny started displaying aggressive behaviour towards other dogs.He would growl at and lunge towards most dogs in the neighbourhood with his hackles raised. At times, he seems like he wants to play and greet the other dog, but he would suddenly start gowling and scare the other dog. Other times, he goes straight to the growling and lunging.
I’m planning on getting a trainer to help me out once the pandemic gets better, but if you have any ideas on how to train him, it would be very helpful. Thank you. (Jan.2021)
